1. Hello Miranda, Thank you for giving us such an excellent opportunity to interview you. Could you please briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, my name is Miranda Yan, and I’m the founder of VinPit– a SaaS-based company that provides a platform to users who want to know a vehicle’s history before purchasing it.
2. Please share something about VINPIT, when you started and what are your plans.
I started VinPit a few months ago, and the idea came to me when my friend was purchasing a second-hand car. I realized that car purchasers do not generally know about the vehicle’s history, leading them to unfavorable outcomes. I plan to build a one-stop solution for such car buyers and make the process of finding the history of a car easy for them.
3. What challenges did you face initially?
I faced the challenges that all the new entrepreneurs face initially. Implementing the right marketing strategies, raising capital, expanding brand impression, generating enough traffic, and virtual management at the times of covid were some of the everyday hustles for us.
4. What suggestions you will give to our readers who want to buy Used Cars?
I would suggest they gather information about the car they have shortlisted before actually purchasing it. A vehicle can have a troubled history that you are unaware of like it could be stolen or used by an absconding criminal, and not knowing anything about it can land you in dreadful bother. You can use our service to enquire about any of this stuff.
5. How do you manage to balance your work and personal life?
My mantra is –“give time to yourself.” My work is, of course, essential to me, but what’s even more valuable is my physical and mental health. And so, I take out enough “me time,” even on the busiest of days, and try not to exhaust myself to lose the liveliness.
6. What motivates and inspires you. Would you like to name a personality that you follow and has been your role model?
It’s the idea of “what the future holds” that motivates me. I believe that the ever-growing technology has great potential and is yet to reveal its finest inventions. At that point, I want to be present to use it and come up with something that no one had thought of. As you could tell by now, I’m a dreamer, and it’s my dreams that keep motivating me and pushing me every day.
Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA, is my role model, and I try to follow in his footsteps quite diligently. He was constantly criticized for saving money and being extra cautious about spending, but I think that is a fabulous quality that keeps you in a safer place. He even quoted that – “ I am stingy, and I’m proud of the reputation.” By this itself, one can tell how rigid he was with his principles and beliefs and did not care much about what others thought of him. It’s an attitude only some can have and carry well.
7. One piece of advice that you would like to give to those who aspire to become an entrepreneur.
Believe in yourself. Just remember why you chose to be an entrepreneur and how amazing it is to follow your passion. Stay as professional as you can with your work- it’s always respected and will help you go a long way.
