Students from Madhya Pradesh (MP) who wrote their 12th Board Exams are eagerly waiting for their results. MPBSE (Madhya Pradesh Board of Education) which conducts the 12th board examinations in Madhya Pradesh was established in 1965 under the Madhya Pradesh Secondary Education Act. The board was formed to maintain and control the workings of secondary education in the state. It also regulates the policies of all the affiliated schools in the state. The exams are conducted by MPBSE to check the academic performance of students at HSSC (Higher Secondary School Certificate) and HSC (Higher School Certificate) levels. MPBSE recently announced that the 2019 12th Board exam results will be released soon. Although the exact date has not been announced, the general trends hint that the results will be declared around May. This year’s exams were conducted from 2nd March to 2nd
Last year the results were declared on 14th May. The board declared the result for the regular candidates and private candidates simultaneously. A total of 7,65,358 students received their result out of which 6,00,065 were regular students and 1,65,293 were private students. The pass percentage last year was 68%.
Over the last few years, the results have shown a major improvement in terms of the pass out percentage, and the number of registered students. This year the Board is expecting to have a higher number of students passing the exam.
The students can access the official website to check their results. They should be careful while checking the website, as there are many fake result pages online. Students should only enter their details such as roll number, phone number, etc., on the official website. They will then get an option to download a digital version or take a printout of their result. Until the original mark sheets and the passing certificates are given to the students, these printouts are considered by many universities as provisional results during the admission process.
The MP board is likely to provide an option for rechecking and re-evaluation to the students. Students who feel that their marks do not reflect their performance in the examination can opt for this option. The board will release an official statement regarding rechecking and re-evaluation after the declaration of the results. They will also charge a fee for each answer sheet that is sent for rechecking or re-evaluation.
In order to help the students’ continue their studies without wasting a whole year, the board will be conducting Compartmental or Supplementary examinations. Any student who failed in one or more subjects, can register for the examination and reappear for the Board exams. The Supplementary exams are usually held in June, and the results are declared in the first week of July. Students can contact their respective schools to get more information about these exams.
The MP board held its first examination in the academic year of 1959-1960. Approximately 80,000 students participated in the first examination. The number of participants has increased to around 10 lakhs since then. From the time MP board conducted its first exam to now, things have changed a lot. The board has kept pace and continuously adapted and changed accordingly. When it is a question of the future of so many young people everything has to be done perfectly. Just conducting an exam is not enough. To see it through until the end is more important.
